How do I choose a width?
What size harness should my dog wear?
XS & Small Dogs - Girth lengths 9"-20" by 1/2" wide - Best for dogs under 20 lbs.
Medium Dogs - Girth lengths 12"-30" by 3/4" wide
Large & XL Dogs - Girth lengths 19"-38" by 1" wide
The most accurate way to choose the correct size range is to measure your dog - but don't worry, it's easy!
A fabric dressmaker's tape measure is easiest and most accurate. Or, a piece of string can also be used and then measured.
Measure the dog's girth (around the ribcage at the
widest point) comfortably snug against the fur while the dog is standing.
Take the actual measurement and add 5% to determine the best size range.
Example: Actual measurement is 20" + 5% = 21"

Initially they sent a defective harness, then the replacement was indeed broken by my dog, but I was not eligible for a second replacement. It was implied that I was dishonest that the first item was defective. Historically I loved the brand and was completely satisfied with several previous items, but their current quality has declined.

We have reviewed your photos and the harness we replaced does exhibit clear signs of chewing - so we replaced it with a new one. Although the break-strength of our webbing is as much as 3500 lbs., There is no resistance to determined chewing and sharp teeth.
We recommend trying Fooey, it is a terrific chew deterrent and a great addition to your training as well as removing the harness when your pup is not on leash or supervised. It does not take them long to chew their way through. We assure you the quality and construction has not changed and we hope you’ll give us another try.

Best harnesses for pugs
I started my 8 wk old puppy on this harness and it was difficult with a squirming puppy but now that she is a bit older, in a larger size and width, I find this harness just what we need. You do need to lift one paw but it only has one clasp. The front still shifts a little but it's not going anywhere. The fabric is very durable and strong and I love the Sunflower design which looks stunning against her golden Rust coat. Thank you for making such high quality products.

I wish you wold make the strap between the neck and tummy strap shorter. I customized the harness to fit better.

I bought this harness for my puppy. My other dog wears a Balance Harness that I love: it is ergonomic, highly adjustable and has 3 attachment points. This Lupine harness has only one attachment and remains easy to put on and take off. It adjusted easily and fits my puppy very well, allowing for unrestricted range of motion through the shoulders. A bonus is that it is so comfortable for this 11 week old chewing demon puppy that he allows the harness to remain on for hours without direct supervision. This was not one of the things I thought was going to be on the easy list.

Very high quality and well constructed. My previous harness had more padding and had a "handle" built into the back strap, but I think this one from Lupine will be just perfect.
I hoped that the design of Roman halter would prevent my pup from pulling it off. No such luck I guess that Joey has a Houdini gene.

This is our third or fourth Roman Dog Harness for our pups who can wriggle out of any other harness. The first two doggies we had 16 years, and these harnesses kept our darlings safe. So, when we got two new puppies, we had to get new harnesses. One of them wore out after eight years of two long walks/day. So, we had to get a new one. We just love the new design, and neighbors have noticed, commenting on how cute Evie's new harness and leash are! Ordering and delivery were easy and quick. Love, love, love Lupine Pet!
I don't use anything but Lupine. All 5 of my Pekingese have Lupine colars, harnesses, leashes, and couplers. Love the designs and they last forever!
